Man Twitters With His Brain

I apologize for being late on the news, but I was just informed this week after engaging in a conversation on twitter that a doctoral student, Adam Wilson found a way of twittering using brain activity and electrodes. That's right, hands free! The scientific discovery could possibly open doors of communication for those who suffer from locked-in syndrome and paralysis. I just wanted to share with you all.

Redland International Orchid Festival

This Sunday I went down to the Redlands for the International Orchid Festival, held at the Fruit and Spice Park. The drive throughout the Redlands is always so therapuetic, with miles of beautiful vegetation and flowers. Sunday was a real treat as this years festival included 60 different vendors, both local and world wide. Vendors came as far as, Taiwan, Hawaii, Brazil, Malaysia, etc. to share their rare and beautiful orchids. The festival included walking tours, lectures, orchid supplies, and crafts.

These orchids are called "Lady Slipper" because it resembles a woman's slipper.



This orchid was filled with a chocolate scent.

Unfortunately I do not know the name of this vine but it caught my eye.

Yes this is actually an orchid. Weird but so unique!

Brush Fire

A brush fire that occured Thursday afternoon behind the Walmart on Okeechobee in NW, Hialeah. The hot temperatures in S.F. and lack of rain win again.
