Recession affects 4th of July Celebration

The Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department announced earlier this week that the 4th of July celebration at Amelia Earhart Park will not occur this year, due to the economies downfall.

The celebration normally featured activities in the park like their farm animal, paddle boat rides, dog park, and included concerts by famous Latin performers.

Unfortunately, the city of Miami-Dade could not come up with enough sponsors to fund the event.

The Milander Park 4th of July event is still taking place at 6 p.m. There will be entertainment and live music. Fireworks and laser show starts at 9 p.m. Arrive early or you will be left out without a seat!
